Bad guys to be popcorn-pelted

ArtsView Childrens’ Theatre is again holding forth with its Popcorn Theatre as it presents the hilarious The Pony Expresso or…The Villain Came to a Grinding Halt!  Directed by the renowned Ann Reeves, this lively melodrama is heavy with puns and jokes.
Actress Christa Watson will portray Star Bright, proprietor of a humorous establishment called the Pony Expresso.  Although she is assisted by her Aunt Dee Caff (played by Susan Olson) the pub is struggling to remain open.  Potential customers are being lured away by the canny businesspeople Mo Cabana (Nathan Olson) and Fifi Latte (Caryn Pepper,) who charge lower prices for their exotic coffee.  These competitors’ patrons, however, are being made ill by the libations they are enjoying (which were good to the last drop.)  The striking Buck Brawn (Dr.Scott Brazell) arrives to look into the strange sickness.
The plot takes an unexpected twist when Mo and Fifi learn Star and Dee plan to get rich by selling the cafe` to the railroad.  Then all takes a delightful, romantic turn when Star and Buck decide to get married and rename the business after themselves–Buckstar Coffee.
This wild funfest is certain to be a better pick-me-up than a gallon of black coffee. Be sure to see it.
The fundraiser performances are for adults only, on April 28 and 29.  Tickets are $50, which also pays for drinks, popcorn and snacks.
