Dancers ‘On Pointe’

Longview Ballet Theater (LBT) Artistic Director Pat George Mitchell has announced coming try-outs for young locals who are serious about ballet.  Students aged 12-17 who already have a minimum of three years study are being invited to a two-hour company level class where they will be evaluated on their technique, musicality, physicality, attitude and ability to take instruction.
Accepted candidates will work this summer in a two- or three-day-per-week class.
Being invited to this summer program does not insure students a contract for year-round study at the Studio of Creative Arts, which is training studio for the Longview Ballet Theater.
Audition requirements are:

1. Students must be 12 years old by September 1, 2012.

2. Must have already studied ballet for at least three years.

3. Must be on pointe.

4. Must have a recommendation letter from current teacher.

Prices for summer ballet sessions are:

Registration Fee–$45

Two-day-per-week class–$165

Three-day-per-week class–$180

Accepted students must pre-pay for the two months of classes by May 15, 2012.  To register or to schedule an audition contact LBT Executive Director Toni Erskine at tonierskine@longviewballet.org.
