Dogan Middle School celebrates 50 years

Former principals, teachers, students and staff joined the current team of students and staff at Dogan Middle School in celebration of the school’s 50th Anniversary. The ceremony, titled “I Remember When,” highlighted Dogan’s 50 year legacy as part of Tyler’s rich history.
Originally named Dogan Junior High School, the campus opened its doors to 462 students in September 1962. The school was named after Dr. Matthew W. Dogan, who served as President of Wiley College in Marshall for nearly 50 years. Former principal and TISD’s Visual and Fine Arts Director George Faber served as a guest speaker during the program.
