Film Fest slated

Filmmakers or just those who would like to explore filmmaking are invited to participate in free educational sessions on Saturday at Gallery Main Street.
These sessions are part of the ongoing Downtown Tyler “Show Us Your Shorts” Film Festival, which began Wednesday and will run through Saturday at Liberty Hall.
All sessions will be held at Gallery Main Street, and all are free to attend. Festival Director Chris Abraham said though there is no fee, those anticipating attending the sessions should register online at the film fest website, www.tylerfilmfest.com.
The Downtown Tyler Film Festival continues through Saturday at Liberty Hall. Doors open at 7 p.m., and movies begin at 7:30 p.m. There will be nightly viewing of eight films submitted for the 2011 competition, plus short films that have won competitions in past years. Tickets are $10 per person at the door.
The film festival is joint project of the City of Tyler Main Street Department and the Downtown Tyler Arts Coalition. Those who want more information on the festival should go to www.tylerfilmfest.com.
