Fireworks Festival slated July 4

The Freedom Celebration and Fireworks Festival will be held in Longview on Wednesday, July 4, 2012. The fireworks display will begin at dark on the grounds of the Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Complex. Spectators may view the show for free from the Maude Cobb parking lot and from throughout the surrounding area. Access to the Longview Fairgrounds area and Longview Exhibit Building is limited to sponsors of the event and active military personnel. Simulcast music for the fireworks show will be broadcast on KYKX FM 105.7.

As a reminder: the Fireworks Festival is a professionally produced show that has received city approval.  Unregulated use of fireworks is not allowed within City limits. City of Longview Ordinance states, “The unregulated possession, manufacture, storage, handling, sale and use of explosives, fireworks, and small arms ammunition is declared to be a nuisance and illegal.”
