Kilgore College has released the names of the 36 lovely young ladies who will complete the school’s 72nd Rangerette line. The world-famous dance-drill team revealed the newest squad in a closed ceremony in the college’s Dodson Auditorium after selecting the women from 90 hopefuls who tried out for the lineup. These freshmen will join sophomores team members to fill out the 72-woman roster.
The Rangerettes were formed in 1940 by the late Gussie Nell Davis. They were the first such drill team, and through their impressive choreography and marching they set the trend for numerous such squads that followed their example. Specializing in high kicks and jump splits they have entertained audiences around the world.
The 2011-2012 freshman Rangerettes are as follows:
