Do you know your rights to the water on and/or under your land? Do you know what you can and can’t do with that water? The Oil Belt Farm and Ranch Club and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service invite you to come learn what the Water Rights and Regulation are in Texas.
At our monthly meeting, Tuesday, March 25th at 6:30 p.m. at the Extension Office located at 405 E. Marshall Avenue in the Auditorium.
Mr. Billy Howe, State Legislative Director for Texas Farm Bureau will be presenting an overview of:
the property rights for surface water and groundwater
the power of the state to regulate these rights
the water right owner’s options to protect their rights from unreasonable regulation
This will be a highly informative meeting as water is a very hot topic on a state-wide basis with many parts of the state wanting access to our East Texas water sources. The public is invited. There will be a $5 fee to help cover the cost of the meal.
Please RSVP to Patti Harrison at 903 236-8429 so we can make adequate arrangements for the meal.
