This month commemorates the 45th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act and its promise of equal housing for all Americans. President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Fair Housing Act into law on April 11, 1968, one week after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
In observance of this landmark legislation, the City of Longview Housing Authority
is sponsoring a comprehensive campaign for the month of April to improve the community’s awareness of the Fair Housing Laws and to help eliminate housing discrimination within the City of Longview.
The Longview Housing Authority will be holding a Landlord Workshop at the Longview Housing Office at 1202 North Sixth Street from 10-11am on Thursday, April 18, 2013. This workshop is free and open to the public. Attendees will be educated about Fair Housing Laws and their rights and responsibilities as a landlord or property management professional concerning evictions and conflict resolutions.
For more information or to RSVP for the Landlord Workshop, call 903-237-1235 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
