Library hosts pet contest

The Longview Public Library invites residents to participate in upcoming programs and activities. Among the activities is a Pet Costume Contest & Pet Fair on Saturday, October 29, 2011, on the Eastman Plaza of the Longview Public Library, 222 W. Cotton St.
According to Library Manager Kara Spitz, “The Library is pleased to host the second annual pet fair and contest. We look forward to bringing pets and their owners together for a fun outing on the Library plaza.”
Prizes will be awarded for the most unique / original, prettiest / most handsome, scariest, funniest, and best book-related. All pets must be current on vaccinations and will not be allowed into the Library building. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the judging to follow around 10:30 a.m.
Also included in this year’s event will be the Pet Fair. Many area pet-related businesses will be on-hand to answer questions and demonstrate products. The Humane Society of Northeast Texas will also be there with their adoption trailer.
