Master Gardener Class to begin January 6

The Master Gardener Class for 2014 will kick-off on Monday, January 6, 2014, at the Gregg County Extension conference room at 8:30 AM. The program will provide in-depth training on a wide variety of horticultural topics for the homeowner who wants to know more about gardening, lawn care, landscaping, fruit production, urban forestry, vegetable production, controlling critters in the landscape, and other topics. We will also have tours of the SFA Arboretum and SFA Soils Testing Lab, greenhouse production, and the IDEA Garden in Tyler. There will be three (3) special programs conducted as joint-county trainings at the Overton Research Center by Specialists from A&M University.

If you are interested in participating in the Master Gardener Training Program for 2014, please contact the Gregg County Extension Office at 405 E. Marshall, Suite 101, Longview, Texas no later than December 20, 2013. The registration fee for this highly informative Master Gardener Training is $110. Make checks payable to the Gregg-Harrison Ag Fund.

The registration fee includes all training materials, a 3-ring binder of bulletins and other training materials. Some car-pooling may be necessary for the tours.
