Professional rodeo riding into Longview

The 24th Annual Longview PRCA Rodeo will be held April 11th  and 12th 8:00 pm at the Longview Fairgrounds Rodeo Arena and will feature top professional rodeo cowboys and cowgirls from all over the country including Canada.

The sanctioned rodeo brings the wildest, most exciting cowboy fun and non-stop action packed rodeo competition. The event will provide rodeo fans with an opportunity to see some of the sport’s very best athlete’s attempt to rope ride and wrestle some of the rodeo’s rankest livestock.

Sammy Andrews, Stock Contractor of the Year, brings the professional rodeo to Longview featuring steer wrestling, bareback riding, tie-down roping, team roping, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing and bull riding. Kid’s Stick Horse Race and Mutton’ Bustin will add to a fun filled evening for the children. Children 9 and under who wish to participate in the stick horse race can register at the gate both nights. The children will receive their stick horses and back numbers at the time of registration.

For the second year The Greggton Rotary Club is proud to welcome The Cowgirl Chicks. Wearing the patriotic colors of red, white and blue, Trish Lynn and the All American Cowgirl Chicks® are an equestrian drill team, exemplifying the true meaning of their western heritage as they entertain crowds while riding for the cure for cancer and our military.

Longview Greggton Rotary Club is once again presenting the Rodeo and proceeds will benefit many local organizations in Gregg County. Major corporate sponsors include the Friday Night Host, Texas Oncology. Friday night is “Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night” in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. The Saturday Night Host is Peters Dodge. Other businesses that help the rodeo include Miller Lite, Cavenders Boot City, Dr. Pepper/Made Rite, Innovative Fluid Solutions, ABC Auto Parts, Joyce Crane, Boot Barn, Eastman Chemical Company and Springhill State Bank.
