The Pine Tree ISD School Board named Vanessa Robinson as principal of Pine Tree Junior High School in a special board meeting, May 20, 2013. Robinson, is a native of Longview and completed her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Master of Education in Leadership from University of Texas at Tyler.
“I am honored to have been selected as the new principal for the Pine Tree Junior High School,” said Robinson. “Pine Tree not new to me. I have two daughters, Casey and Amber, who began Kindergarten in Pine Tree ISD and continued their education here through graduation. I believe that all students can be successful when family members, teachers and administrators work together as a team.”
She brings with her 16 years of experience in education: three years as an education counselor with the federal TRIO program, eight years teaching Math and Science at the Middle school level, and two years as an assistant principal at the Pine Tree Junior High School. The last three years, she has served as an assistant principal at Pine Tree High School.
“We are very happy to announce that Vanessa Robinson will serve as principal at Pine Tree Junior High campus,” said Dr. TJ Farler, Superintendent of Schools. “She is an outstanding leader who will continue to build on the strengths of the campus and the district, by advancing a strong vision for the students and staff.”
Robinson succeeds Clay Gillentine as principal, who resigned earlier this month.
