Republicans looking forward to 2012

“Jazzin’ It up” was the theme as the political extravaganza got underway in Kansas City.
Next came a straw poll in which all attending delegates, alternates and guests voted Herman Cain front runner for the upcoming party nomination for President.  He also sat for a crowded book signing.
The workshops also went over big as delegate Marty Rhymes, alternate Carol Walker and guest Laura Hargis attended every offering.  Keynote speakers and workshop leaders included presidential candidates Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum and Cain.
There was also voting on multiple resolutions as four of the five presented passed.  One, for support of Israel, was approved unanimously.  Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer, Governor Luis Fortuno of Puerto Rico, Missouri Congresswomen Vicky Hartzler and Jo Ann Emerson and others were among the representatives of the forty states that sent delegates, all of whom joined in a stirring chorus of God Bless America.
The finale was a Sunday afternoon tribute to former President Ronald Reagan.
