Scholars honored: Duke University honors six Longview ISD students

Five Foster Middle School students and a Judson Middle School student earned State Recognition from Duke University for their scores on the SAT college entrance exam.

The students were recognized at the Longview ISD district’s board meeting The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) 7th Grade Talent Search is the largest program of its kind in the nation. It identifies academically talented seventh graders based on standardized test scores achieved while attending elementary or middle school. Candidates are invited to take the ACT or the SAT college entrance exam as 7th graders. Of the 134 Longview ISD students who qualified to take an exam, 41 tested.
