Souper Bowl Challenge a huge success

Tyler ISD schools are helping the community by donating more than 4,000 cans of soup to the less fortunate. The canned soup drive, called the “Souper Bowl Challenge,” is an annual event hosted by People Attempting to Help, or PATH.
PATH is an organization that provides programs to the economically disadvantaged in Smith County. Last year, Tyler ISD’s very own Jack Elementary School took home the Community MVP title, awarded by PATH to the group that collects the most soup by weight.
“The ‘Souper Bowl Challenge’ teaches our students the importance of giving back to their community,” Pamelia Adams, Boulter Middle School student council sponsor, said. “It warms my heart to see the students’ passion for helping those in need.”
The cans of soup will provide warm meals to people in need in our community. Many Tyler ISD school take part in the canned soup drive each year and plan to continue participating for years to come.
