Longview Regional Medical Center (LRMC) received a record number of nominations for the 2011 Stars Over Longview nominations. LRMC Director of Marketing Kim Brown explained this year’s significance.
“In August, when Longview Regional Medical Center announced that the nomination period for Stars Over Longview had begun, nominations started pouring in.
Our Womens’ Advisory Council, which is made up of 16 local businesswomen, volunteers and activists, had their work cut out for them. They received numerous nominations for 75 praiseworthy candidates,” she said. “The 12 extraordinary women who were chosen to be honored all exemplify a spirit of service and dedication to improving the lives of Longview’s citizens and the community as a whole. Longview Regional Medical Center and the hospital’s Women’s Advisory Council take great pride in presenting the Stars Over Longview event each year.”
Brown went yet further in outlining the magnitude of this event and what it signifies.
“The 2011 honorees were selected on October 11, 2011 by the LRMC Womens’ Advisory Council,” she said. “These women will he honored at our 11th Anniversary Celebration Event as our ‘2011 Stars Over Longview.’ The Women Who Rise to the Occasion luncheon will take place on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Maude Cobb Activity Center.”
