As a member of the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), the Texas Lottery® is recognizing March, Problem Gambling Awareness Month, by reminding lottery players to play responsibly.
“We are committed to helping raise awareness of problem gambling and as always, remind players that it only takes one ticket to win,” said Texas Lottery Executive Director Gary Grief.
According to the NCPG, signs of a gambling problem include:
Lying to loved ones about gambling activity
Deterioration of work performance
Missing deadlines and important responsibilities
Worry about mounting debts and inability to pay them
The Texas Lottery encourages those that may be struggling with problem gambling to contact the National Problem Gambling Helpline Network at 1-800-522-4700. The helpline is accessible 24/7 and calls are free and confidential.
