Walking history tour slated

The Oakwood Cemetery Restoration Committee will present its annual “Spirits of Oakwood” walking history tour through Oakwood Cemetery on Saturday, March 31 from 1-4:30 p.m.

 

Guests will be guided through the gravesites while historians in period dress portray early merchants and settlers buried in the old cemetery. Tours will begin every 15 minutes and refreshments will be provided.

 

Admission is $6 for adults, children under age 10 are free when accompanying an adult.   Proceeds from the event will be used to restore the monuments in the cemetery.

 

The “Spirits of Oakwood” event is held annually in conjunction with the Tyler Azalea and Spring Flower Trail.
